In case you haven’t heard, a South African Pastor named Joshua Mhlakela claimed he got a dream from Christ in June 2025 saying the Lord will come for His church on September 23–24, 2025.
Well, add it to the list of failed predictions.
The Lord did not return on either of those days. It is now Sept. 26th 2025. The Lord did not appear. The wicked are still here. The dead have not been raised. And I am not surprised. Why?
Because Jesus told us that no one knows the day or hour. Not even Jesus (see Mark 13:35 below). Only the Father above knows.
Now, I am not here to doubt this brother’s salvation or his ministry in general. But I am here to tell you as a pastor myself, that this pastor from Africa should have poured his dream through the grid of God’s word before telling a soul. God’s word will filter out all the unbiblical stuff from the things we see and dream about. It’s like draining boiled pasta. The drain water slips through the colander’s holes and we are left with only the good pasta. When you pour your dream through God’s colander, the Bible, all the stuff that isn’t biblical will slip through and be removed. All that remains is that which is Biblical.
SO…. If he had properly tested his dream against the Bible, he would have discovered that Jesus would never have told him the date of His return.
Jesus already told us, nearly 2000 years ago, that no one would know the day or the hour.
Only the Father in Heaven knows the Day of The Lord’s Return. And when He does return, it won’t be a secret rapture. It will be a loud, visible and noisy return with the wicked wiped out like in the day of the Flood of Noah. We, as believers in Jesus, will meet the Lord in the air, like Noah being lifted in the ark with the Lord’s presence with him. It will happen.
The Spirit of the Lord told me on Sept 23rd: these failed return-of-Christ predictions PROVE that The Bible is TRUE and that Jesus was RIGHT.

Note in Mark 13:32 that Jesus Himself does not even know the date. ONLY the Father knows.

According to Jesus, The Gospel of The Kingdom must be preached in all nations FIRST, BEFORE The Day of The Lord:
Matthew 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
The Gospel of the Kingdom is not well understood among all nations. We have more work to do. Too many people still think that following Christ requires religion. In reality, the Kingdom of God is governmental, not religious, and that it is present in our hearts as believers.
If we all knew the date of His return, you would have a bunch of people camping out waiting for “the next flight out of here.” People were quitting their jobs over Mhlakela’s latest prediction. That’s tragic. Now they are jobless. All because a pastor did not test his dream against the truth of God’s word…. and because these people don’t know what the Bible says. Jesus told us know one knows. Not even Him. Only the Father knows.
But humans are very slow to learn and understand apparently. The pull to idolize secret knowledge is a powerful force it seems. It’s like a child being told they have to wait for Christmas day to find out what their gift will be. That child may be tempted to search all the closets and hiding places in the house to try and find the gift early. But the parents, being smart, don’t hide the gift in places where that child may find it.
The Father is infinitely wiser than us. Why do we keep contesting Jesus’ words? I believe Jesus. That’s why I don’t predict the day of His return.
The Father purposely keeps that date and hour a mystery, so that we are directed to what actually matters as Christians:

Final Exhortations
Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.Ephesians 6:18 NKJV
praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints —1 Thessalonians 5:6 NKJV
Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.2 Timothy 4:5 NKJV
But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.1 Peter 4:7 NKJV
But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.
Folks, these above Bible instructions only work if we don’t know the day or the hour of Christ’s return.
It sounds super “religious and godly” to try and predict the specific year/day/hour of His Return.
But it’s not. It’s a satanic distraction.
It all goes back to Satan tempting Eve with secret/forbidden knowledge.
Genesis 3:1–5
English Standard Version
1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?”
2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden,
3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’”
4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die.
5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Did you catch Satan’s lie there? He tricked Eve with the enticing words: “you will be like God, knowing…” in verse 5. This is the source of the idol known as “Gnosticism”. The Gnostics were a group that infected the early church with falsehoods such as denying the incarnation of Jesus in real flesh and blood. The Apostle John had to clarify to the churches that any person denying the incarnation is an antichrist (opponent to Christ).
1 John 4:3 NKJV
and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
And Jesus warns that many false christs will come in the future to try and decieve God’s people.
Matthew 24:24 NKJV
For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.
So by pouring this South African pastor’s dream through the colander of God’s word, we learn that he must have heard from a “false christ.” This is the conclusion we must come to based on the fact that Jesus said “no one knows” and that Mhlakela’s prediction was false.
Jesus Christ, the true Christ, is never wrong. But this prediction was. This is why we must use discernment and Biblical study to examine every claim from men and from spirits.
1 John 4:6 NKJV
We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
I don’t usually call out pastors or people. But this prediction caused a lot of harm because people believed him instead of Jesus. They quit their jobs or sold off possessions. The craze was all over platforms like Tik Tok. But in the end, they were all listening to a “spirit of error.” Now, is Pastor Mhlakela saved? I don’t doubt that. But was his mind decieved? In this instance I have to conclude “yes.”
No one is immune to deception. Only Christ’s spirit in us can keep us on the right path in our thinking. I could fall for a deception too, if I wasn’t rooted in God’s Word. So I don’t speak with condemnation. Just with caution.
Please, read your Bible and test every spirit. Test every word. Make sure it lines up with God’s book, the Bible.
Only the Father knows the day of Christ Jesus’ return. Why are people trying to “be like God” in “knowing” this hidden date? I believe they have been deceived by Satan on this issue. Now I am not saying these folks aren’t saved. They are. But their mind is being distracted by the devil on this issue. It’s causing people to sell their things, and give up their livelihoods and all for nothing.
All this time wasted on date predictions should have been spent on regular faithful service and prayer unto the Lord and on spreading the Gospel of the Kingdom.
Here is a small sampling of a list of failed predictions of Christ’s Return (These failures all prove Jesus to be RIGHT: that NO ONE knows the day or hour or time of His return.)

- Hal Lindsey Published a book, The Late Great Planet Earth, suggesting Christ would return in the 1980s, probably no later than 1988.

- Harold Camping claimed that the rapture would be on 21 May 2011
- Ronald Weinland predicted Jesus would return on 29 September 2011.[42][43][44] When his prediction failed to come true, he moved the date of Jesus’ return to 27 May 2012.[45] When that prediction failed, he then moved the date to 18 May 2013, claiming that “a day with God is as a year,” giving himself another year for his prophecy to take place. Weinland was convicted of tax evasion in 2012 and sentenced to 3+1⁄2 years in federal prison.
- Mark Biltz Starting in 2008, Mark Biltz began teaching that Christ’s return would be 28 September 2015. His idea, known as the Blood Moon Prophecy, attracted attention from pastor John Hagee (who stopped short of claiming Christ would return on that precise date) and mainstream media such as USA Today.[46]
-Joshua Mhlakela Mhlakela, a South African preacher, claimed in a YouTube video from June 2025 that rapture would occur on September 23rd and or the 24th. Many users on social media platforms, most notably TikTok, panicked and sold off many of their possessions thinking they would be raptured when the date came near. While many other users on the platforms made humorous jokes about the incident, poking fun at those who believed it
I share this brief sampling of historic prediction failures to help us become educated on history. Most Christians seem to take the latest prediction as “Gospel” without reviewing the long, sad, and terrible history of these Return Date predictions.
Brothers and sisters in the Lord, please don’t obsess over which day it is.
Instead, follow the Lord’s instruction:
Matthew 24:45–46 NKJV
45 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing.
What has the Lord called you to do? Be faithful in doing it every day, and be alert since you do not know His day of return. See, knowing the day would discourage daily, yearly, and lifetime faithfulness. It would encourage people to goof off until the date got closer. It would encourage procrastination. It’s kind of like being in College and putting off your studies until the exam date got closer.
Avoid the satanic obsession with secret knowledge/Gnosticism, including this unending cycle of failed Return date predictions. If you follow Jesus’ instructions, you will be found faithful by the Lord on the Day He returns.
And only The Heavenly Father knows that Day and hour.
