A Walk In The Woods: Dave Kerwin Trail In Newmarket, Ontario.

Photos from my trip.

I went to Dave Kerwin Trail in Newmarket, ON. Canada, for the very first time yesterday, May 5th 2026. I've lived in Newmarket for over 40 years now. But I had never been to this park and trail before. It's located in the north-western part of Newmarket.

The reason I finally went is because my in-laws were visiting from Nova Scotia. My mother-in-law, Peggy, discovered it on a map of Newmarket and suggested we go check it out. I was glad she suggested it. My wife Jenny and I had such a good visit with them!

Today I would like to share some of my photos from that trip.

Here my wife is sitting with her parents:

It's a beautiful trail, and the plants are starting to come back from their winter slumber.

The trail begins with a large sign that reads: RESPECT

The paved path meanders through the woods.

I was able to use my new 70-300mm super-telephoto lens and four-thirds Olympus E-140 DSLR to capture an image of a timid red squirrel:

What mysteries are hiding within the woods?

Looking up at little plants from the forest floor. I achieved this shot by putting my DSLR down on the ground and pointing the lens up at the leaves. See the result below:

Flowers are in bloom at this time of year:

In the muted shade of the trees, a fallen evergreen branch lays quietly:

A lovely single red trillium is already in bloom along the path:

I hope you enjoyed taking the journey with me on the Dave Kerwin Trail, through the woods.

Praise be to our God, The Lord Jesus Christ, for His wonderful works in creation!
