I just wanted to make a quick post about Mark 16:15-18 New King James Version. In it we hear the words of Jesus:
Mark 16:15-18 NKJV
15 And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;
18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
So here we see the Great Commission and also a promise from Jesus. If we rely on His Spirit then we shall perform miracles in Jesus' name.
Lay hands on the sick and see them recover. You will be protected in case you are accidentally exposed to a dangerous substance or toxin. Cast out demons.
Speak in new tongues both earthly and heavenly as the Holy Spirit gives utterance.
And preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God to all people.
This is all part of the Christian life.
Yet I am not against natural healing either. Some Christians go too far and claim all doctors are evil and all medicine is witchcraft or bad. This is out of balance.
While it is true some doctors are out of order, many others are working hard and doing their best to help people.
I believe doctors, and meds, can be helpful sometimes. They don't have ALL the answers, but sometimes they offer helpful advice.
Some doctors are believers (I know one!)
I do NOT believe we should run to the doctor first though. I think we should always PRAY TO JESUS first. Then see what else should happen if anything.
Supernatural healing is available to anyone who calls on Jesus! No sickness is too big. All illness must obey the mighty King Jesus.
Some healings take place instantly.
Other healings take place over days, months or years. In other words, healing is sometimes a process or a journey.
Jesus gave His body and blood for us. So believe Him and count yourself healed in Him.
And tell others about Him and how He forgives sins and heals the sick. Lay hands on others who want prayer. Expect God to heal them in Jesus' name.
In the times when healing is gradual, don't be afraid of using some medicines. Only as directed by medical professionals. (This article is not a substitute for medical advice.) Always pray about each prescription a doctor might prescribe. There is no moral conflict between the Bible and medicine, UNLESS one puts medicine BEFORE the Bible.
I trusted God to heal my Sacro-illiac joint dysfunction in 2013. I prayed for healing FIRST. And then I went to a chiropractor. After about 6 weeks of prayer and physical adjustments, God healed me. And He used that doctor to help the process. Eventually I was able to walk and stand up properly again and the pain stopped. Praise Jesus!
My healing was a journey. And God chose to use a doctor in my case.
God gets the glory here, and in every other situation.
So my belief is:
Pray for healing FIRST.
Then, as needed, go see a doctor, and get meds as needed. As long as we prioritize Jesus and His kingdom FIRST, then God will add other things to us as we need them, including, for instance, pain killers. (See Mat 6:33 - seek first the Kingdom of God).
Our dependancy is on Christ alone, not mankind.
In the end, God has a path to healing for all people. Sometimes the path is instant. Othertimes the path is a longer process.
But no matter how long it takes, God's path always leads to healing for ALL who call on Jesus. JESUS is our path to healing. Let's walk with Him in that Way. He is The Way (See John 14:6).
At the Lord's return, all things will be made new, including our bodies!
God bless
